Statement by the Prime Minister of Canada on the shooting in Texas

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the shooting in Texas:
“I am saddened that so many have been killed and injured in a senseless and horrific act of violence against innocent people in Texas.
“On behalf of all Canadians, I extend my deepest condolences to the families and friends of those killed. We also hope for a speedy recovery to all those harmed today.
"It is appalling that this act took place in a place of worship, where worshippers should have felt safe.
“Canada as a nation stands in solidarity with the United States during this difficult time."
