Message from the Supreme President Brothers and Sisters of the AHEPA Family,   On behalf of the Sons of Pericles Supreme Lodge, I would like to wish everyone a blessed Merry Christmas and a most wonderful New Year! Each year as the Christmas season falls upon me and the New Year creeps closer and closer, I find myself reflecting on the previous year, as I'm sure many do, debating if the year that in near completion has been a memorable and unforgettable one. It is easy for me to say that my reflections hold very true for 2017 and I am able to recall many great memories from the year that will last a lifetime. For me, 2017 had its ups, downs, and all-arounds, abrupt changes and a hectic calendar that kept me on my toes. It has been excited and eventful, both challenging and rewarding, and through each second of it, I learned and matured in ways I never thought possible. Most of which can be accredited to being Supreme President!   With 2018 fast approaching, I am filled with an excitement to continue on my journey as Supreme President with all of the momentum that 2017 has provided. I am anxious for my Lodge to continue its diligent work reactivating chapters and growing our Junior Order. I am most excited however, to continue to see the growth amongst the young men on my Lodge and anticipate all of them to continue to shine into the new year and beyond. In what has often been referred to a very pivotal and important year by our Brother AHEPANS, the Sons of Pericles Supreme Lodge has continued to shine, satisfy our goals and serve the organization that has held a special place in all of our lives. The group of young men working with me are more than capable to continue the legacy that those of the past have worked to create.   While we have done an amazing job thus far, 2018 will see the Supreme Lodge reaching for new heights, continuing to reactive and create new chapters, and growing our organization across the globe. Stay tuned to all of our media outlets and keep up to date with all of our upcoming events and affairs in the new year!   A very Merry and Blessed Christmas Season to everyone and their families and I wish a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year to ALL! Greeks in L.A. Continuing from our success in Chicago, the Sons of Pericles Supreme Lodge host: Greeks in LA 2018! Our annual staple event comes to everyone on the weekend of February 16-19, 2018, President's Day Weekend! Join us over the long weekend for our basketball tournament, after-hours events, and a chance to meet Greeks from around the country (and Canada)!   Our annual event will boast a Greek Night with music by DJ Sverk on Sunday February 18. Last year's event drew many from around the greater Los Angeles area as well as across the West Coast and this year we are expecting an even larger turnout! Growth & Expansion

Over the past few months, with the help of the AHEPA, the Sons of Pericles have reactivated Perseus #322, New Rochelle, NY; Helios #261, Clearwater, FL; Winnipeg #CJ10, Winnipeg, MB; and Spartans #145, Chicago, IL.  They also have chapters in California and New Jersey slated for reactivation as well!  The Order of AHEPA is continuing to grow and with young and energetic Chapters, the future is bright. With the support of our entire AHEPA family, we will continue to grow and accomplish great things!  If your AHEPA Chapter would like to help start or reactivate a local Sons of Pericles Chapter, please contact the Supreme Lodge.

Hempstead Reactivation Supreme Secretary Chris Tavantzis recently helped reactivate Hempstead Chapter 233 in Hempstead, NY.  The chapter will be guided by former Boston Son of Pericles Alex Orphanos, who is enthusiastic about helping these young men excel within the Order. They have a bright future ahead of them and we cannot wait to see what these boys can accomplish!

New Rochelle Reactivation This November, Perseus Chapter 322 was reactivated in New Rochelle, NY. They're a young group with 10 members and bright future ahead of them. New Rochelle has always had a very strong AHEPA Chapter and with some guidance, we have no doubt they will be a successful Chapter in the near future. They are accompanied by AHEPA Supreme President Carl Hollister, AHEPA Supreme Governor Tom Dushas and Andreas Christou, PSP and D6 Sons Advisor.

Clearwater Reactivation On Sunday, December 17, Helios Chapter 261 in Clearwater, FL was reactivated with 13 total members, 7 of which were initiated previously at the District 2 Convention. Brother Dino Giallourakis, who has led the chapter's formation in its dormancy, was elected as Chapter President. District 2 Secretary Savvas Ferekides and Tarpon Springs Chapter President Niko Sacoolas were there to support the event as well as several AHEPANs from Clearwater, including AHEPA District 2 Governor Gus Pantelides.

Growing Presence in Canada We are very happy to announce that the Sons of Pericles  Winnipeg Chapter CJ10in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada has been re-instated. AHEPA Canadian President Christos Argyriou swore in eight enthusiastic young men. District 2 Sons of Pericles Officially Recognized by Florida State University The Supreme Lodge is excited to announce that the with the diligent work from Seminoles Chapter #334 in Tallahassee, Florida State University has officially recognized the chapter as a Student Organization under the name AHEPA Scholars. With this now finalized, the chapter is able to work with the university as an official operating group, with all of the benefits that accompany student organizations. The group is co-ed, meaning they will be working very closely with the Maids of Athena Adelphi Chapter #279, also in Tallahassee, to grow as much as possible on campus. Furthermore, District 2 is establishing an initiative to create similar models at other universities around the district where there are currently Sons and Maids chapters to follow suit and recognize them as formal campus organizations.

National Project: St. Basil's Academy

The Sons of Pericles and Maids of Athena are joining forces once again this year to help raise funds for St. Basil's Academy. The Academy is a safe haven and home for all Orthodox children in need. They provide a nurturing environment for the children while offering educational, spiritual, and material needs. This October, we were very happy to visit the campgrounds and find out a little bit more about what Saint Basil's Academy does.   This year, our minimum goal is to raise $25,000 for St. Basil's Academy to help fund their music program and create an in-house athletic program. To help us raise these funds, we will be selling tickets for two raffles as well as Sons of Pericles merchandise. We thank you for your support to a worthy cause.
