Newsletter

April 2017

Dear young media makers,

Throughout March, the board has been busy attending events and working on our portfolios and I know many of our member organisations have been working on various projects and initiatives.

March saw us interview candidates for the Youthmetre communications officer position. We are happy to announce that Freja Eriksen was successful and we would like to welcome her to our team. Freja has a background in youth journalism and recently completed a postgraduate degree on the Erasmus Mundus Journalism, Media and Globalisation course - her profile fits EYP and the Youthmetre project well and we look forward to working with her in the future.

Looking ahead to April, it’s again likely to be a busy month. Late April sees the Nordic Press Association hold a seminar in Oslo on freedom of expression and human rights in the Nordic countries. Meanwhile there are numerous other projects to get involved with, from a call for female journalists to take part in a human rights fellowship to a photo competition focusing on the safety of journalists.

This month also includes an interview with Mladiinfo Montenegro’s Milica Zugic who is also a member of our board here at EYP. She sheds some light on the work Mladiinfo do and why they’re an important organisation in Montenegro.

Board member
