Open day 2017: The Council and the European Council open their doors
On 6 May 2017, the Council of the EU and the European Council will open their doors to the public. This event is part of the celebrations for Europe day.
On 6 May 2017, the Council of the EU and the European Council will open their doors to the public. This event is part of the annual celebrations for Europe day.
Visitors can go for a guided tour to the new Europa building, the new seat of the European Council. Tours will start from the Justus Lipsius building (Rue de la Loi 175), following the path of the leaders, and ending in the Europa building. Guided tours start between 10h00 and 17h00.
In the Atrium of the Justus Lipsius building, several information stands will give visitors the possibility to find out more about the two institutions and the EU member states in an informative and entertaining way.

Programme and activities
Guided tours
Come and explore the new Europa building! Tours will go from the Justus Lipsius building to the new Europa building, where European leaders come together to take decisions. Tours start between 10h00 and 17h00 and take approximately 45 minutes.
Meet the member states
Meet the EU Member States and find out their role in the Council of the EU and the European Council. Dive into the culture and beauty of each and every country and make sure not to miss their performances.
Council online
Engage in an interactive game, discover interesting facts about Europe and the EU. Share your experience at the Council on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Archives and exhibition of the Rome Treaty
Allow the archivists to take you on a trip through time and space, back to the signature of the Treaty of Rome, whose 60th birthday the EU celebrates this year.
